Irina was born into peaceful times in Germany, years after her country had led and lost the two most destructive wars in human history.  She grew up in East Germany where she completed studies to become an elementary teacher.  She also took classical singing lessons at the music school in Frankfurt/Oder.

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, Irina moved to Canada with her French-Canadian husband, and here they raised three children.  But despite having to work a “regular” job like everyone else, music eventually recaptured her soul.

Her musical past revived, she emerged once again through the power of music in her adopted country — only this time, through a heartwarming personal Folk-Pop and Country style that now defines Irina M.
